Somatic practicing centers body pleasure and honors the sacred self. It uses tools like embodiment and breath as parts of a whole healing modality that honors the beauty of our unique identity.
From birth, our culture teaches us to ignore the relationship between our body, mind, and spirit. For many people, gender expansiveness adds more layers to understanding the relationship with ourselves. This denies our ability to live an affirming life. Practicing embodiment facilitates our natural ability to live in pleasure and peace with ourselves and others.
Evelyn offers somatic practices to guide clients back into their bodies. This methodology is something that Evelyn practices daily and understands deeply as a mindful practice that honors the sacred self. It uses tools of embodiment, somatic practices, bodywork, and surrogacy as parts of a whole healing modality that honors the beauty of our unique identity.
With a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, Evelyn has further honed her skills with a Somatic Sexology training from the Amina Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. She continues to practice and learn in the field of somatic experiencing and plans to continue the certification process from the American College of Sexology. Furthermore, Evelyn wants to pursue Reiki training and yoga teacher training and continue her understanding of body movement and dynamics. Her multifaceted background and practice as a somatic healer uniquely position her to guide individuals through their most profound challenges related to body image, dysphoria, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and sense of belonging.
Evelyn's trauma-informed approach combines academic rigor with hands-on experience, creating a safer space for her clients. Her goal is to work with people to guide them into their bodies, developing an affirming and transformative relationship with themselves where they can integrate their identity with body, mind, and spirit.
